Hi and G`Day to you all from Mango Hill in Queensland Australia!

tn_2006_1101image0005Myself and my family took over a year to get our visas to allow us to move to Australia. It seemed as it was endless but we got the visas in March 2006 and we left Northamptonshire, England in April 2006.

We decided on Brisbane because of spending many an hour on the Internet looking at other parts of Australia, but Brisbane had which we believed the best all round package, its called the sunshine state ( and yes the sun does shine ) it is also well placed for easy access to the beautiful north Brisbane sandy beaches of Noosa, Mackay etc and easy reach of the world famous pleasure parks of the Gold Coast.

We arrived in Australia 21 hours later allowing for the time difference. We landed at 7.30pm Friday night.

We originally thought we would like to stay around the city but after a few weeks we found ourselves up the north side and looking around Mango Hill.

Well what can I say? Mango Hill is the place for us! The schools are fantastic and the location for us is perfect. The shops are in walking distance and have a wide range of large high street shops and small independent shops. The city and the Airport can be reached in 20/25mins using the Bruce Highway, and for the important bit, the beach is only 15mins from us. If you want to go to the fun parks they are in easy reach from us too.

We have rented a large single storey house that overlooks a lake and it was very reasonably priced. We are looking around at land for the future prospect of building our own home (lots to choose from). We have made quite a few good friends already and all the people we meet are so happy and friendly to help.

We both keep saying to ourselves that we should have moved to Australia years ago. The lifestyle is great and you cannot help being happy when you get up to the sun shining.

If anyone wants to ask me any questions please do.
